This video tells the story of an Egyptian street vendor who became a millionaire after many years of selling authentic Middle Eastern food on New York City sidewalks. This piece was co-produced with Janelle Richards as part of our Master’s project at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism IN 2010. 

In this video, El-Hennawy meets a Christian author who sent shockwaves to the society with his book  “The Copts’ Alley” where he took the curtain off all sorts of discrimination faced by the Christian community in Egypt. This piece was produced for  Al-Masry Al-Youm, Egypt’s leading independent newspaper in January 2011, a couple of weeks before the outbreak of the anti-Mubarak uprising.
